This was a 3 day appeal to the House of Lords on an issue of statutory construction concerning recovery of hope value in all types of leasehold enfranchisement claims. It also involved extensive Human Rights Act arguments. Thomas acted for one of the two groups of tenants. The issues were of general significance in all enfranchisements across the country, and worth hundreds of millions of pounds to the Cadogan and other Central London Estates.
