Christopher Lewsley is a graduate of Leeds University with a PhD from Warwick University. He was called to the bar in 1976. He is a life member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and an honorary member of the Rating Surveyors Association.

His practice at Landmark embraced property law, local taxation, town and country planning, highways and other engineering and development schemes, and compensation for compulsory purchase and for the use of other statutory powers.

He appeared in many highways and planning inquiries, and rating and compensation cases, at all levels of the court and tribunals system. He was a contributor and editor of leading publications on local taxation and compensation including Rating and Valuation Reporter, Rating Appeals, and Sweet and Maxwell’s Encyclopaedia of Rating and Local Taxation.
