The book has a foreword from Lord Sales, Justice of the Supreme Court. It has contributions from a range of Landmark barristers: David Elvin KC, Samantha Broadfoot KC, James Neill, Andrew Byass, Miranda Butler, Natasha Jackson, Joe Thomas, Nick Grant, Katharine Elliot, Siân McGibbon, Georgina Fenton and Charles Bishop.
The book describes the large and complex legal structures of the modern NHS. It explains the legal relationships between NHS commissioners and primary care, community and acute providers of NHS services, as well as explaining the structure of NHS regulation. It provides a detailed guide to enforcing patients’ legal rights around NHS Continuing Healthcare, patient choice and the rules around NHS personal budgets.
The second edition has been updated taking account of legal developments including the Health and Care Act 2022; and expands upon the first edition, including new chapters on continuing care for children, medicines and planning.
The launch party is being held on 31 October 2024 at the LSE, where the book will be on sale with a discount. We are honoured that Lord Sales will be in attendance and will give a short speech.
