Nutrient pollution to water has given rise to serious issues in recent years. Part II of Landmark Chamber’s series on water management looks at the issue facing the delivery of new houses from the impact of the habitats regime in terms of the discharge of waste water into protected waters. The habitats assessment rules set a very high hurdle to overcome in demonstrating there will be no adverse effect on the protected waters and Natural England has devised a methodology to seek to assist in achieving at least a neutral outcome so that housebuilding can proceed.
This webinar will take you through the implications of recent case law as well as looking the most recent guidance provided by Natural England.
In addition our speakers will explain the broader context for nutrient pollution and examine recent cases seeking to challenge emissions in the agricultural sectors.
