Landmark Chambers recently celebrated the career and contributions of Richard Drabble KC, a giant of the public law Bar who has retired after a career spanning nearly five decades and countless appearances in the highest courts.

Richard’s practice spanned all aspects of public law, with a particular emphasis on social security, immigration, environmental, planning, local government and human rights law. He has appeared at all levels of the domestic court system, including the Supreme Court and the House of Lords, as well as the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Richard is a Bencher of Inner Temple, a former Chairman of the Administrative Law Bar Association (ALBA) and a current member of the Bar Council's Law Reform Committee (previously Vice-Chair).

To mark the occasion, Landmark Chambers has produced a Festschrift which includes contributions from members of the judiciary, the bar and Chambers, both past and present, reflecting on Richard’s achievements. Contributors include:

Richard was presented with the Festschrift by Dame Nathalie Lieven DBE at an event held in Middle Temple. You can read the Festschrift here. A limited number of hard copies are also available - please contact us for more information.
