City of York Council publishes Inspectors' report into draft Local Plan

York City Council has recently published the report by Inspectors Simon Berkeley and Paul Griffiths on its draft Local Plan. The City of York has not had a development plan since 1956 (a “very, very long time ago” as the report noted) and until the draft plan no detailed green belt boundaries had been defined around the city in accordance with old RSS policy. The examination hearings took place in five phases between December 2019 and March 2024 and the report will be considered by the Council at a meeting on 27 February.
