The Doncaster (City Gateway – Railway Square and Phase 1) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 has been confirmed following a public inquiry. The scheme underlying the CPO comprises the extension of the City’s Railway Square to allow connection with the City’s Station Gateway site, allowing greater walkability and space for enterprise, and the delivery of a 4-5 storey office/mixed-use building with wider public realm, connectivity, active travel and regeneration elements. The scheme is to be funded in large part by the Government, pursuant to a successful bid by the City for investment from the Government’s Towns Fund, announced in September 2019.
