Graeme advised and represented the Council in opposing the development of c225 dwellings and a community building. Main Issues related to: whether inappropriate development in the Green Belt and, if so, whether very special circumstances existed to justify permission; loss of Public Open Space; and effect on Biodiversity. 7 day Inquiry held in November 2024 (involving 3 Rule 6 parties). The challenges faced in defending the Council’s decision included that it was contrary to professional officers’ recommendation and most of the site is allocated for residential development in the adopted Local Plan.
