Landmark Chambers is delighted to be a silver sponsor once again of the eighth annual LSE-Featherstone Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot Competition to be held on 23 – 24 February 2024. The competition is dedicated to the consideration of areas of sexual orientation and gender identity law and brings together LGBTQ+ and ally students, campaigners, practitioners, and members of the judiciary. As silver sponsors, Landmark will be providing financial and administrative support to the organisers. Carine Patry KC, Richard Turney and Alex Shattock will also be judging parts of this year’s competition.
Commenting on the upcoming Moot competition, Galina Ward KC (public law barrister and Head of Landmark’s Equality, Diversity and Wellbeing Committee) and Charles Bishop (public law barrister) at Landmark Chambers, said:
“We want to make it very clear that all LGBTQI+ people are welcome in the legal profession and deserve to practise in a safe and encouraging environment. We are delighted to be sponsoring the moot again this year and proud to be supporting LGBTQI+ people pursuing a career in law.” – Galina Ward KC
“Participating in the LSE-Featherstone moot as a student was a formative part of my journey to becoming a barrister at Landmark Chambers. It is a unique opportunity for aspiring lawyers to meet LGBTQI+ and ally lawyers and learn about the legal issues affecting LGBTQI+ people in this country. I am so proud that Landmark is once again sponsoring the moot this year and to see it growing from strength to strength.” – Charles Bishop
We hope the participants thoroughly enjoy this unique experience, and good luck to the participants! For more information on this Moot, please visit LSE website.
